In order to protest against the procedure of selection instead of election on the ten reserved seats for the representatives of minorities in the National Assembly and continued exploitation of minorities in Pakistan especially the Christian community the World Minorities Alliance (WMA) held a protest demonstration at the Melody Chowk in front of Rawalpindi Islamabad Press Club the other day. The demonstration was led by Convener WMA
and former Federal Minister Salik who set on fire his own chair which he used while being in the cabinet to protest the way constitutional provisions for the direct representation in the parliament are being violated by the regime. Speaking on this occasion he lamented that minorities are being compelled to live in the Stone Age like conditions having no alternate but to live in extreme poor conditions in shanty towns and mud dwellings adjacent to sewerage lines. He was critical to the policies of the US and the West for having offered plenty of aid and assistance to successive governments of Pakistan without paying any attention to the miseries of the minorities and continued denial of their constitutional rights. He put the blame of this sorry state of the affair on the United Nations as well that has dedicated no day to be observed internationally to express solidarity with the suppressed minorities across the world, while so many such days are observed every often and then. He noted that our rulers make tall claims on the eve of all their foreign visits that all constitutional and legal rights of the minorities including most poor class of Christians are well protected in Pakistan but the situation on the ground is that minorities are compelled to live in the conditions which are beyond discrimination.
He observed that the constitution guaranteed every citizen a respectable life but the fact of the matter is that minorities particularly Christians are treated as second class citizens.
He asserted that minorities are conscious enough of their rights and they would not further tolerate their exploitation and injustice in the walks of life.
On this occasion the participants of the rally chanted slogans in favor of their demands including due and direct representation in the parliament, provision of land for their own shelter, sufficient employment opportunities and strict compliance of the laws of their minimum wages and other benefits guaranteed under the constitution.

Salik said over 5,000 homeless people from the twin cities have so far submitted their applications to the concerned authorities for allotment of plots. He said that a petition was submitted on the issue in January 2007 but due to the judicial crisis, the case was lingered on. “Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani has announced that the government would provide 80 meters plot to homeless people in the country. We demand of the government to take immediate measures for implementation over this plan,” he said.He said lower strata of the society has posed a confidence in the political parties in the February 18 general elections and now the political leadership must live up to the expectations of the poor people. Referring to various policies introduced in the past, he said no government could be able to deliver to the poor masses who constituted major chunk of the population. “No one did pay any heed to the demands of the poor people in the past, but it is the ripe time to deliver them something concrete.”He said homeless people have gathered on one platform for the first time in the history and they would continue to struggle for their rights unless their demands were met by the government. “This country belongs to all the people including the poor masses who have all the reasons to enjoy their basic rights and lead an honorable life,” he said. While talking to The Post Abdul Sattar 55 years old, a resident of Morgah Kachhi Abbadi, said that his forefathers migrated to Rawalpindi from Kasmir in 1947. He requested the authorities to provide him shelter. A widow Zanab told that her husband died in a road accident and now she was residing with her father in a rented flat at G-7/4. She said, current dearness in the rates of commodities was hard hitting the pockets of the poor while on the other hand sufferings doubled at the end of each month when you have to pay the utility bills along with the house rent. Press Release

7 May 2008

ISLAMABAD: May 7: To highlight the plight of the shelterless people of Rawalpindi and Islamabad and the sufferings of the masses and to prevent them from committing suicide the World Minorities Alliance (WMA) led a rally from Press Club Islamabad to the Parliament House which was attended by thousands of helpless and shelterless people of the two cities here on Wednesday.

The rally was led by Convener WMA and former Federal Minister J.Salik who addressing on this occasion observed that he has been carrying out his struggle for the cause of the suppressed and underprivileged masses but now he wants to motivate these people to prevent them from taking extreme steps like committing suicide and selling their children and even their body organs like kidneys.

He called upon the participants of the rally to term the event as “suicide prevention rally” and further lamented that it is irony of the fate that bureaucrats and politicians are living princely life and the poor despite having paid all their taxes and having a great role in the national development are being compelled to commit suicide.

He further lamented that due to negligence of the government a group of profiteers, hoarders and black-marketers has made an extraordinary and unrealistic hike in the prices of the essential commodities making it hard for the common man to keep the body and soul together. He noted that Pakistan was massively funded by the international community and the donor agencies in the name of the development and uplift of the masses but no amount was spent for the cause of the poor. He alleged that all this money was wasted in the schemes that could benefit the elite of the country and to facilitate building of their palaces abroad. He said it is more than unfortunate an event that in this age of every day scientific inventions and development thousands of poor are compelled to live in inhuman rather shameful conditions with no facility of clean drinking water even.  He expressed his disappointment that there is no representation of minorities in the parliament which has been a source of serious frustration and resentment amongst the minorities. He warned the rulers that their empathy on the sufferings of the minorities could compel the poor to take to rebellious course of action against the exploiters.

Later J.Salik was received by the officials of the Prime Minister Secretariat near the Parliament House whom he handed over the applications for the provision of at least a residential plot of 80 yards each to an estimated ten thousand applicants.

The participants of the rally including women, children, and even handicapped and ailing people were carrying placards and banners inscribed with their demand of a respectable living. They also chanted slogans for early implementation of the scheme announced by the Prime Minister to allot a plot to each and every shelterless dweller of the masses.

Press release

ISLAMABAD, April 16: Convener All Pakistan Minorities Alliance J.Salik has announced that he would submit the applications of thousands of homeless dwellers of Rawalpindi and Islamabad to the Prime Minister Sayed Yousaf Raza Gillani on Thursday (Today) April 17th.
Addressing a hunger strike camp setup by hundreds of homeless residents of the two cities against the disrespectable life of the helpless minorities here in front of the Camp Office of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, he lamented that minorities in the country are forced to live a shameful life mainly adjacent to the sewerage lines and along side the junkyards for decades.
He further lamented that no government in the past paid due attention to the hardships faced by these helpless minorities while off late they have been deprived from their constitutional right of direct election of their representation which he added is a matter of deep concern for all the minorities.

He lodged strong protest on the luxurious lifestyle of the ruling elite saying the former Federal Secretaries were allotted several residential plots in the capital but there has been no scheme on the cards for the well-being of the genuine owners of the motherland.
He asserted that the poor minorities have equal participation in the national development and they have also been contributing in the national exchequer in the form of so many direct and indirect taxes levied upon them but they are not supplied with clean drinking water, what to talk of other basic amenities.

He welcomed the announcement made by the new Prime Minister that all the homeless people of the country are to be provided with residential accommodations and for this purpose housing schemes are being launched across the country: he however questioned as to why the helpless minorities are being made an exception and are being denied their constitutional rights.
He Pointed out that the constitution guarantees that each citizen is to be accorded with a respectable life, therefore the state is duty bound to enable the minorities to live a respectable life as other minorities are taken care of in the rest of the world. He said that due to denial of the due representation of the minorities in the parliament a sense of deprivation is getting created amongst the minorities despite the fact that the minorities equally contributed to the movements for the restoration of democracy and reinstatement of the deposed judges of the superior courts.
He noted that people from minorities also laid down their life for these noble objectives which must be acknowledged at the national level, especially by the new government.

He assured the poor people observing hunger strike that he would fight even at the international level to ensure a respectable life for them besides continuing the effort at the national level. Earlier the people observing hunger strike chanting slogans against the suppression of the state of the poor masses and in favour of their demands especially provision of a shelter of their own. The day long hunger strike camp ended peacefully which was attended by men, women and children from the slums of the sister cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Thursday he said the oppressed and suppressed people of Pakistan especially the activists of the human rights organizations and members of the civil society rightly believed that after the democratic government was installed there exists no more justification to continuously place the capital under section 144 and to ban the entry of the common people on the Constitution Avenue.

He lamented that for the past over one year all the roads leading to the Supreme Court stand closed for the common people even the lawyers can not proceed to the highest court of the motherland which is a matter of shame for each and every concerned citizen of the country.

Joint Press Conference PML (Q) Dr Tasneem Kausar and PML (Q) President Women Labour Wing Hameeda Bibi Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Minorities Wing’s Pakistan president Dr. Tasneem Kausar and President Women Labour wing Islamabad Hameeda Bibi said while addressing a joint press conference.

Out of ten years empty 12 blocks Kashmiri earth quake affected occupants of 6 blocks appealed that at the moment their houses due to red zone and less availability of financial aid have not been build yet. Besides the temperature in Kashmir is below minus five (-5) to minus ten (-10). On extension till 30 April 2007 Ch. Shujhat sahib, Mushaid Hussain sahib, Dr.Amjad sahib, and Sardar Atiq Ahmed Prime Minister AJK strongly recommended on their extension till 30 April 2007. This was rejected by the Interior Minister and Chairman CDA and taking furioush action they forcefully throw out disable, sick, wounded, children, women and elders. What crack of doom would have come to the CDA on making a 3 months extension besides how many more years theses blocks will remain empty as residents workers can not live in a one room flat along with their children. So all this was a conspiracy against PML (Q) by group of conspirers. In any case the way the belongings of helpless women and children was thrown out and women were disgraced, taken to police station in name of negotiations and were maltreated which is completely un-acceptable for PML (Q). They way international, national print and electronic media covered the issue the group of conspirers tried to conveyed a negative message to the people of AJK, Occupied Kashmir and Pakistan when the next elections are here this is an effort to subdue the excellent works of PML (Q) in many development works for dependent and women so that their position could be weekend in the eyes of international, national, Kashmiris and Pakistanis people. We demand a tribunal should be made to expose this conspiracy. If the present interior minister would have been from PML (Q) such an event would not have taken place. Dr. Tasneem Kausar said that to show solidarity with the earthquake effected people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and the people evacuated from CDA flats, former federal minister J. Salik’s has planted a tent placed on a bed at his residence as a protest and I will be staying in the tent at former federal minister J.Saliks residence and will also mourn for 40 days.

Forced eviction of Kashmir’s is violation of human rights, says J. Salik

Mr. J. Salik -chief organizer of Pakistan Human Rights Party and the convener of World Minorities Alliance, Ex-Federal Minister, also nominated for Nobel Peace Prize, has harshly criticized the forcible eviction of earthquake affectees especially the Kashmiri women and children from G-6 flats. “In an inclement winter, the eviction of distressed and helpless families is a serious violation of human rights. This move by the government reflects its inhuman attitude towards its own citizens. The government has disgraced Kashmir women and honorable people in the name of negotiation with administration and instead confining them in police stations till evening which constitutes serious violation of our ethics and constitution of Pakistan. How the common man will feel about such brutality? He was speaking at a press conference held at his residence here on Wednesday after his illegal confinement/arrest for 12 hours by police. J.Salik said on the occasion that he was under arrest from birth. The evicted women and children narrated their ordeal and described in details the ill treatment they received at the hands of the law enforcing agencies. “The government did us great injustice. May no one experience the kind of hardships we faced during the earthquake?” We pulled out the corpses of our family members from the debris and went through such traumatic times; they said adding that they were rendered homeless by the quake. We didn’t come to stay in these quarters out of our willingness rather the circumstances forced us to move here. Had we been living here illegally then why were we provided with gas, water, electricity and other facilities”, they asked. J.Salik held that by disconnecting water, electricity and gas to these people, the government is replaying the scenes of Karbala. Had I been asked to see them off, I wouldn’t have reverted to such gruesome tactics. “Instead I would have sent them back to their respective areas with honor and dignity and thus would have not only spruced up the image of my country but would also have received prays from these people. He said that sending these helpless and hopeless people forcibly in such a chillingly cold season is intolerably inhuman on the part of the government. He said that blatant insensitivity and criminal silence could be no solution to the problems and that is why he protested against such steps of the government by sitting on the ashes, wearing black robes and a garland of shoes. The shoes garland symbolizes our love even for the shoes of the Kashmiri children, he said. About the ashes, he said that these are the same ashes that he sat on continuously for 124 days to raise his voice for the human rights and that the ashes carry his blood that he spilled seven times in protest. J.Salik will observe mourning by wearing black robes for forty days. He asked the nation to observe one day fasting and pray for the betterment of the country. He asked the government to seek apology from the Kashmiri people or otherwise face the wrath of God.

All Pakistan Labourer Leaders Conference
Tuesday November 21

Focus will be to discourage retrenchment of labourers on account of privatization under the contract system. Labourers Community is the back bone in the progress and development of a country. But in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the problems of laborers have been kept in pending on one hand, and the Govt-Privatization Policy has made their jobs insecure on the other hand. This is causing unrest among them. The country cannot progress and prosper without solving their problems and without providing protection to their jobs. There exist labour parties in developed countries which while in power, pay important role in the development of their country. It will not be out of place to mention here that in the Federal Capital in “Capital Development Authority” till last year, the sanitary workers for working for more than 14 hours a day got only Rs 1700/-pm(28 dollar) whereas on the struggle of Pakistan Human Rights Party their pay has been raised to Rs 4500/-pm(75 dollar p.m.) One of the objective of the proposed “All Pakistan Labourer Leaders Conference is to find out ways and means to lessen their difficulties” and protect their rights.

The Worst Incident of the History of Islamabad

Dear Sir

This is my second letter to you to brief you on the worst ever incident of the history of Islamabad. I have already sent a letter to you containing information about the sad incident happened on 22 June in the premises of PAF headquarters.

The information given in the previous letter was incomplete as the astounding facts were brought to light after a week were so shocking that I felt it my utmost duty to bring these gruesome facts to your kind notice

While describing the series of this gruesome incident, I am too tearful to
find words to elaborate the whole situation. As, we, the innocent religious minorities (the word religious has been used intentionally because we have always been discriminated on the basis of religion) have been serving the PAF Officers’ families for a long time. Our men, women, sons and daughters including the old age folks have always been at their service. These poor families have been victimized on 16 June at 3:00 am, which is the time for making preparations to say prayers. They were attacked brutally in Commando style. The attackers did not spare anybody and showed no respect to women at all be they young, old or pregnant women.

The members of the poor community living in the premises of PAF headquarters were not only physically tortured and beaten up. They were also kidnapped including teenagers and 85 years old people and to far off places like Peshawar knowing that these people did not have money to get back to their homes.
They had also been socially boycotted by closing down their small market for two days to further threaten them.

They were treated like traitors. The young men were abducted by the commandos and taken to Black Room.
While narrating the whole incident I have tears in my eyes as the way my community has been treated by the Muslim brothers. Whatever is happening and has happened in the capital of Pakistan with the Christian families is a dazzling blow on the beautiful face of democracy and the above mentioned agenda of the whole world especially Pakistan. It’s not the matter of a rivalry between two tribes, it’s is not the story of a fight between two sects, and it’s not the issue between two different races… (Ref. Peace Worldwide Report)

Since thirty years of my struggle as a Pakistani citizen and human rights activist, I have been serving not only the poor, depressed, and socially and economically backward Christian community of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, but also the depressed community of the world irrespective of their religion and race.

While being part of Government body I never committed any corruption or money laundering etc. Due to my honest feelings and efforts for the betterment of my fellow citizens I had been elected four times as a Member of National Assembly. I was the first ever Christian Minister for Minority Affairs, and last but not the least I was also nominated for Noble Peace Prize among 160 million people.

After serving thirty years for building better Pakistan, I would like to make a request to form an Inquiry Commission to investigate this grave matter because:

 Peace Worldwide visited the aggrieved families scattered in the streets and the sectors of Islamabad. The astounding fact about the incidence is that these poor people were brutally tortured and beaten by the PAISTAN AIR FORCE officials as if they were third degree criminals or terrorists. These poor families are bearing all this only to be Christians. The point worth mentioning here is that these aggrieved families are under high pressure by the responsible authorities not to open their mouth. They are terrified not to tell about the merciless treatment they have been served with. Even then Peace Worldwide has been sufficiently successful to gather details as well as photographs and video of an injured and brutally beaten youth named Ijaz, pet name Goga, who has been serving Group Captain Mr. Babar. Ijaz told that he was living in servant quarter #C 23 in PAF attached with Group Captain Mr. Babar. He has two children and wife named as Asia Bibi. He told that all of his family members used to work at Mr. Babar’s home. On Sunday 18th June 2006 when I was at my residence, i, e., C 23 Mr Babar called me and inquired about the protest and the FIR matter against the Muslim scoundrels. He also threatened me that some Police intelligence or some other agencies are searching for me in the same regard. I showed my ignorance about the whole incidence but meanwhile some PAF officials came upon and demanded me for investigation. Ijaz told that it was my respected boss who gave me in their custody. They hand-cuffed me, covered my face with a bag and threw me in a vehicle and then they drove me to some unknown place where they served me cruel beating with iron rod. Afterwards they put salt and detol on my wounds which was certainly a merciless act. Peace Worldwide is the witness to his injuries as he could not properly walk and sit.
Their next target was Pastor Ilyas Masih who, along with the Bible and other testaments was thrown out of the premises. Ali is another victim who had been beaten more painfully but he and his family are so terrified and pressurized that they don’t dare to open their mouth. Moreover Ramesh masih, bhola masih, Sami masih, Pastor Basharat and Pastor Amanat are other victims. The luggage of the aggrieved families and every thing pertaining to Church is also on the ground in front of the famous building of Passport office amidst the capital in a public car parking.

By forming an Inquiry Commission, we would be able to repair the loss which this incidence has caused to the image of Pakistan on international front.
I would also like to recommend making compensation to the poor families and the culprits should be brought to justice.

Please find enclosed a copy of my previous letter, a copy of Peace Worldwide Report and my book “ Pakistan ki Pehchan” which provides information about my sincere efforts for the welfare of the poor, depressed and backward strata of our society.

Letter

Honourable
Tanveer Mehmood Ahmed Sahib
Air –Chief- Marshal
PAF Headquarters
Chaklala Rawalpindi

Dear Sir
I take this opportunity to bring to your kind notice about the sad incident that took place in PAF colony Islamabad on 16th June 2006, where from the security men, in the darkness of night, at 12,o’clock threw a poor Christian family alongwith its household at foot path near kohsar police station.
This was the extreme of cruelty with be orphan young girls who are the citizens of this Islamic Republic of Pakistan where such a cruelty is not only against the humanity but also answerable to the law of justice.

These Christians while discussing to take the issue to their religious leaders in Fatima Parish or refer to PIMS for treatment to me, or came out of the PAF Pakistan Air Force colony . During this period, AC city and A.S.P, Margalla Islamabad contacted me on phone to request for my help saying that a number of Christians had assembled on road, and appealed me that I being their representative should help the administration in controlling the mob. I hurriedly reached Ayub market where I saw that the Christians were peaceful. I considered it appropriate to bring them all and the administration to my residence so as to send them back to Pakistan Air Force colony in the presence of the administration.

All of them alongwith the said officers came to my residence. Here the
administration knew the detail of the sad incident. They were told that some notorious extremist in PAF officer’s Colony had beaten two Christian girls, tore their clothes, dishonored them publicly and thrown them on footpath to fall prey to the darkness of the midnight.

Dear sir, it is worth mentioning here that the aggrieved people would never come out and protest if proper and just hearing of the matter had

been performed inside the premises. The point to be mentioned here is that the incidence took place two days before this protest and inspite of the hardest efforts by the aggrieved family for medical treatment for the injured boys and lawful response from the PAF administration, there was a cruel cold shoulder and a repulsive behavior in the response.
Besides this inhuman behavior there was another shameful discriminative attitude that PIMS hospital also denied treating the injured.

On this the (AC) Assistant commissioner City and A.S.P police decided to order for registration of an F.I.R. Then the Islamabad administration left these orphan Christian girls and others in a police truck and a private mazda bus at (PAF) Pakistan Air Force colony. The administration of (PAF ) Pakistan Air force officer’s colony allowed them to enter the houses but late at night some of the male members were brought out of their houses, loaded in trucks and were taken and thrown far away from their houses. They were also served with good beating pretending that they had a procession against the army.

I am writing this with the hope that you being a responsible Pakistani will do your duty while saving the country from internal and external
Bad name.

Islamic Republic of Pakistan is a welfare state. It is the motherland of all of us where we follow the policy “Live and let others live” we shall try our best to help out the grieved families. However, in the name of justice I request your honor to conduct an impartial inquiry.

Yours truly

J. Salik

 PRESS RELEASE

May 26, 2006

Islamabad May 26,2006: The Convener of World Minorities Alliance J.Salik addressed an urgent press conference at his residence on May 26,2006 to ban English movie "Da Vinci Code". This movie is destroying peace and hurting feelings of all religions. It contains blasphemous material and some countries ban this movie like Srilanka. The purpose of arranging this urgent press conference was to ban this movie and also ban video films that are coming in black prints. United Nations Organization which is working to solve disputes should pass law on international level to ban blasphemous material. This is the need of time that all religions should unite against this war. Now where are super powers who always raise voices for rights and war why they are quiet now? Why now they are not taking any step to stop this war?. These countries always say that freedom is the basic right of every citizen but if this freedom hurt feelings. It is not freedom it is sin which even never forgive by creator. The " Da Vinci Code" movie is from novel whose author is Dan Brown. The plot of the novel involves a conpiracy by the Catholic Church to cover up the true story of Jesus. It is the worst sin to do anything in the honor of creator. We condemned it through this press conference it is the duty of foreign ministry to initiate for its world wide ban and also arrest those people who will sale this movie in black print. Some years back India made a movie "Border" which Pakistani government banned. But the video of that movie was sold in black print by the name of "Shadi Mubarak". Pakistan is a land of pure and if this movie will never ban it will make this pure land dirty. Former Federal Minister and nominee for Noble Peace Prize J.Salik declared that there would be strike in Islamabad on May 31,2006 by all communities of Pakistan.

PRESS CONFERENCE
February 22nd , 2006

Islamabad: The Convenor of World Minorities Alliance and former federal minister J.Salik addressed a press conference about the blasphemous cartoons published in the Danish and other European newspapers. He said that this unfortunate act has aroused and inflamed the emotions of the minorities and majorities living in each and every corner of the world. It has adverse effects on the peace of the world. As such it was the prime responsibility of the United Nations Organization to have initiated remedial measures. Danish government should have apologized in order to stop existing violence.
He proposed that the UN Secretary General for its emergent meeting so as to overcome the rapidly increasing violence. On the other hand, Danish religious leaders should pressurize government to adopt measures for overcoming the situation. He regretted that world electronic media has a number of channels to cover all areas of life as such UNO must have a channel to bring harmony and closer relations among religions as well as minorities and majorities of the world. In this way repetition of such incidents would be stopped. This present incident has inflamed the emotions of the Muslims all over the world which has resulted in the loss of numerous lives and both minorities and majorities living in all corners of the world have suffered. He expressed his grief to inflame churches in Sangla Hil and Sakkhar and said that Pakistan government should take notice on this incident.
He said that in the absence of minorities representative seat in UNO such unfortunate incidents continue repeating as such minorities representative seat in UNO is a must. He further emphasized that Press and Publication Act should immediately be approved under UNO, otherwise repetition of such incidents would enflamed the entire world to ashes.

Christians held a Rally to divert attention of Pakistani Muslims towards their demands

Islamabad: Christians of Islamabad held a “Ramzan Mubarak Justice Prosper Rally” led by former federal minister and organizer Pakistan human rights party J.Salik. Its objective is to divert attention of the Pakistani Muslims towards their demands. A huge Scale of Justice led the Rally. J.Salik and Mrs. Mary Salik walked along it.
J.Salik on this occasion diverted the attention of Pakistan Muslim brothers and explained the objective of holding this Rally in the “Ramazan”. He said that this is the 1st Friday of the holy month which has a great significance in Islam. He added that this month refreshes the lesson of justice, kindness and equality, so during this mubarak month I want to divert the attention of Pakistan Muslims towards the principle based demands of the Christians so that justice may prosper in Ramazan.
As regards this Huge Scale, I don’t want that anyone say that scale of justice in Pakistan is not in balance of the Christians who fully and equally participated and are participating in the establishment of Pakistan, its development and stability. He added that oppressed minority is being given prejudice treatment.
He said that in support of the demands of oppressed Christians I have been in yellow parachute and ashes for the last 124 days. I have locked my gate and the awards which I got in recognition of my services are lying on footpath. During this period, extracting my blood and spread over my head for seven times, lighted 7 lamps of blood, Christians observed 14th August 2005 in graveyard, spread ashes on their heads before Parliament House and celebrated “Ashes Day”. They darkened their faces to observe “Dark Day” but it is cold response that no government representative cared for all this.
He further said that my struggle is well known to all Pakistanis that I raised voice against each and every atrocity in Bosnia, Philippines, Uganda, Barma, Iran and Iraq, Kashmir and Afghanistan even in every cornier of the world. Even now I am fighting for the just rights of these oppressed Christians. He appealed 16 Crores of Muslims to raise voice against this attitude.
The demands are as follow:

· Minorities have been neglected in the budget, the Prime Minister should take them in confidence, he may explain and ask for forgiveness on radio and TV.
· Islamic Ideological Council’s decision to spend confiscated liquor income on minorities has added fuel to fire.
· Resident of Islamabad slum areas have been living here for 27 years. Even after 10 years of ownership rights, they remain deprived of basic facilities. They on self-reliance have arranged for electricity and water, but the entire abadi is fed on single electricity meter, each and every house needs a separate meter.
· CDA with privatization of sanitary work has done great injustice with sanitary workers who cent present are Christians as such the action of privatization smells prejudice against them. Moreover the services of every sanitary worker are terminated without cogent reason.
· National Assembly 207 seats have been enhanced to 335, women 15 seats have been raised to 60 but 30-year-old minority 10 seats remain same. Even these 10 seats have been filled by selection rather than election; as such minorities must be given proper representation in National Assembly.
· Parents of Christian women before changing religion must first be served a notice. During notice period, she should be kept in Dar-ul-Aman. A copy of this notice should be endorsed to D.C.O, area Nazim and the councilor. Married women, after change of religion, must observe “Iddat Period” (as per Islamic Law) before marrying again.
· During last 58 years, minority problems have not been solved, so Prime Minister should listen to their problems at least once a year.

PRESS RELEASE
September 7, 2005

Islamabad: Former Federal Minister, nominee for Nobel Peace Prize and Organizer Pakistan Human Rights Party, J.Salik said that this type of cold behaviour by rulers, I seen first time in the history of Pakistan. Sitting on Ashes with yellow parachute for the last 95 days but government showed his cold response only.
On the occasion after a special prayer he distributed “Behis Wazir-e-Azam Awards” (Cold responding Prime Minster’s Award) to handicap people to show that government has ignored us, as we are a handicap nation. Mr. Ibrar Labba, Maqbool Masih, Nathaniel Sardar, Adeel Masih and Iqbal Sardar have received these awards.
He said that I am fighting for the rights of oppressed Christians and the objective of these awards to awake our Prime Minister’s who is totally ignoring Christian community that he did not mention about them in recent budget. He said that providing opportunity to thousands of Christians to pray before Parliament House with ashes in head is a painful incident.
J.Salik’s protests to break the cold behaviour of rulers:

J.Salik has followed the people of Nainwa city in the age of Hazrat Younus, sat in the ASH, with yellow parachute and extracted his blood seven times during protest, once he has cut his leg to take blood and offered his flesh to rulers but ignored by them. It is first time in the history of Pakistan that a political leader has shaved his head in protest.
· He displayed out of his house all the 32 Awards which he received from the National and International organizations working for welfare, well-being, Peace and services to humanity as token of recognition for his 30 years services to humanity to show his helplessness and locked his house gate and built a wall of bricks before the locked gate. Now for that last three months gate is locked and people use the wall for entrance.
He extracted his blood for 5th time on PTV policy for non-coverage of the sad demise of Shah Fahd (late) Even before this he held a condolence meeting for London bomb blast victims in whose reaction holy religious places were attacked to which he had criticized strongly and stressed upon their protection. He also mourned for the victims of bomb blasts of Bari Imam Urs. He had a rally to register his protest desecration of the Holy Quran but it is not understood why the PTV does not give coverage to the protesting activities of religious nature and those for registration of human honour and peace of the world.
· To express solidarity to provide separate electricity meters in the katchi abadies, he put out his
house light, poured blood in jars glass lighted 7 candles in them.
· He celebrated 58th Pakistan Independence Day in the Graveyard in memory of Shaheeds with
the large number of Christians.
· Ashes Day” was observed in the slums (katchi abadies) of Islamabad. They held a joint prayer
dressed in jute on “HEAP OF ASHES” for solving their problems. Thousands of years ago this
way of prayer was practiced in the age of “Jonah in Nineveh city” which was repeated in
Islamabad.
Having installed Quaid-e-Azam’s portrait (20x15 feet), he extracted his blood for 7th time to mix it with that off Shaheeds. Portrait contains words of Quaid’s address which he made in April 1941 “This is my firm belief that no government can succeed without creating sense of protection and safety among minorities.”
Thousands of oppressed Christians dressed in sackcloth with ashes bowed down before God in front of Parliament House and thanked God for being in Pakistan but as do not have rights and demands have not been fulfilled.

J.Salik is in protest for these demands:

· Minorities have been neglected in the budget, Prime Minister should take them in confidence and address on radio and TV.
· Islamic Ideological Council’s decision to spend confiscated liquor income on minorities has added fuel to fire.
· CDA with privatization of sanitary work has done great injustice with sanitary workers who cent present are Christians as such the action of privatization smells prejudice against them.

PRESS CONFERENCE
September 2, 2005

I
Islamabad: Former federal minister, nominee for Nobel Peace Prize and organizer Pakistan Human Rights Party, J.Salik addressing a Press Conference said that falling down of Speakers’ chair in the National Assembly, inauguration in absentia by Prime Minister of Sector D-12 after 12 years, providing opportunity to Christians to pray before Parliament House with ashes in head, walking out of the Assembly in protest by the ruling party members and bringing them back by opposition members – is first time in the history of Pakistan. This appears to be an indicator of downfall.
He said that following 4000 years old history of Jonah’s nation age, the Islamabad Christians wore ashes and jute dress in protest against atrocities faced by them but rulers response remained cold. CDA by privatizing only sanitary work made Christians slaves of contractors, which is an open injustice with them. He further said “I have been in this yellow parachute for the last about 100 days but the government does not care for it.” On this extreme of cruelty, we shall observe 13th September 2005 as “Downfall Day”.
J.Salik said that he is the owner of Pakistan, the treatment and atrocities, the Christian community is receiving at the hands of government servants, is contrary to the constitution of Pakistan and the principles and ideology of the Quaid-e-Azam. J.Salik added that being owner of Pakistan, it becomes his duty to save his country from any kind of downfall and advised that instead of firing 30 guns on August 14 in Federal capital, National Assembly Speaker should give Sadqa of 30 Black Goats, so that God may accept the sacrifice and the rulers are saved as such institutions would be saved which are more important than any thing else.
He said that the purpose of having these 30 goats during this press conference with me is that if the speaker and the Prime Minister don’t have time, they may take these goats from me and give Sadqa by slaughtering them in the National Assembly Hall. If sacrifice of these goats saves the institutions, I will consider myself to be lucky I shall not hesitate to sacrifice my life for my beloved country.
At the end he advised to General Pervez Musharraf not to test Christians any more, give rights to deprived community. He should declare “Minority Rights Emergency” in the whole country immediately.

Demands are as follow:
· Minorities have been neglected in the budget, Prime Minister should take them in confidence and address on radio and TV.
· Islamic Ideological Council’s decision to spend confiscated liquor income on minorities has added fuel to fire.
· Resident of Islamabad slum areas have been living here for 27 years. Even after 10 years of ownership rights, they remain deprived of basic facilities.
· They on self-reliance have arranged for electricity and water, but the entire abadi is fed on single electricity meter, each and every house needs a separate meter.
· CDA with privatization of sanitary work has done great injustice with sanitary workers who cent present are Christians as such the action of privatization smells prejudice against them.
· National Assembly 207 seats have been enhanced to 335, women 15 seats have been raised to 60 but 30 year old minority 10 seats remain same. Even these 10 seats have been filled by selection rather than election, as such minorities must be given proper representation in National Assembly.
· Parents of Christian women before changing religion, must first be served a notice. During notice period, she should be kept in Dar-ul-Aman. A copy of this notice should be endorsed to D.C.O, area Nazim and the councilor. Married women, after change of religion, must observe “Iddat Period” (as per Islamic Law) before marring again.
· During last 58 years, minority problems have not been solved, so Prime Minister should listen to their problems atleast once a year.

PRESS CONFERENCE
August 31, 2005

Islamabad: Former federal minister, nominee for Nobel Peace Prize and organizer Pakistan Human Rights Party, J.Salik addressing a Press Conference said that the purpose of this Press Conference was to give details of “Downfall Day” scheduled on September 13, 2005 on completion of 100 days of my current protest, but on the news of falling the chair of the Speaker, I postponed those details to some other time.
He said that falling of Speaker’s chair (Tuesday, 12.30 pm) in August is considered to be unfortunate. Instead of firing 30 guns in the Federal Capital, Speaker should offer Sadqa of 30 Black Goat, food of which should be served to the poor National Assembly’s employees in a way as is served to VIP’s.
On the other hand Sector D-12 inauguration in Prime Minister absentia also seems to be a misfortune. Loss of lives during August elections, providing opportunity to huge gathering of Christians with ashes on head, non response from rulers, the protest of 87 days wearing parachute and ashes all these are indicators of Downfall. Ruler’s non-responding attitude is worth-seeing we shall announce of a schedule of preventive prayer.
Today he has installed a large sized portrait (20x15) of the Quaid-e-Azam at his residence. On the occasion he showed his book “Pakistan ka malik, J.Salik”. This book comprises more than 200 columns written by Urdu and English columnists on J.Salik. Its inaugural ceremony will be held on September 12, 2005. It contains unique columns by Parveen Shakir, Zameer Jaffery, Dildar Pervez Bhatti, Begum Sarfraz Iqbal and Dr. Hasan Rizvi.
He added that during his entire life he alongwith supporting rights of the oppressed poor community joined hands with the movements for freedom and justice. In this way highlighted the national character and its problems. On the other hand I am going to complete 100 days of my protest but there is no response from the government.
Before this in protest against wave of murder of minorities in India, dressed in sackcloth for 12 years. The protest came to on and on a ominous resolution recognition of service, passed by the National Assembly.
To register protest against Iran-Iraq was marched for 2000 kilometer on foot.
In protest against Iran-Iraq war leaving family life aside, shifted to tents for two years.

Appealed to declare “Bait-ul-Maqdas” as free city so that Pakistani Christians could visit holy places.
J.Salik reached Bosnia accompanied by his wife and only son during war on its extreme, the only son considered it to be life risk but J.Salik said that if these three dead bodies reach Pakistan, that will be pride of Pakistan.
Encaged himself for 7 months and 12 days for American attack on Ramadan on Afghanistan and hanged himself on dove like cross for 34 hours against American bombardment on Iraq.

Current August Elections proved to be unfortunate resulting in loss of lives - J.Salik
Elections (during the month of unity) divided nation in-to groups

Former Federal Minister Pakistani Nominee for Nobel Peace Prize and Organizer Pakistan Human Rights Party, J.Salik said that the current elections held in August 2005 proved to be unfortunate. Govt’s attitude has damaged not only country’s economy but also shacked its confidence. Particularly irregularities faced by minority candidates during elections remained on extreme but the election commission was not ashamed of its inability and in competency in conducting fair, free and impartial elections.
These elections did good nothing, except loss of dozens of lives and creating differences among various groups of the nation. Even difference between the ruling party have become prominent.
He said that on announcement of the current elections by the Election Commissioner, he (J.Salik) had advised him to postpone these elections and had desired the nation to celebrate Independence Day with full preparations alongwith satisfactory preparations of elections but neither the government nor the Election Commission paid heed to his advice resulting in irreparable loss and damage to National and Political unity.
He demanded immediate resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner for being incompetent in conducting free and fair elections.

· J.Salik after installation of Quaid-e-Azam’s huge portrait infront of Parliament House, Held a Press Conference under its shadow

· Objecting of this Press Conference is that still 24 hours are left, if our demands are given (for happy Pakistan) due consideration, the Plaintiff Procession could be converted into happy thank-giving one and the oppressed community would pray to long live Pakistan. - J.Salik

Islamabad: Having installed Quaid-e-Azam’s portrait with his thoughts on it Former Federal Minister, nominee for Nobel Peace Prize and Organizer Pakistan Human Rights Party J.Salik on his birthday extracted his blood for 7th time to mix it with that off Shaheeds’ portrait contains the words of his address which he made before the constituent assembly on April 1941 “This is my firm belief no government can succeed without creating sense of protection and safety among minorities.
On the occasion he quoted the words of the Quaid which he said during his presidential address, August 11 1947 in Constituent Assembly ““If you forget your past, work with enthusiasm, irrespective of community, group, colour, religion and race all are citizens of this country with equal rights, facilities and also duties, the country will development tremendously.” The Assembly approved design of national flag same day. Its green and white colour reflect the majority of the Muslims and the Christians. Quaid-e-Millat Nawabzada Liaquat Ali Khan while presenting its design clarified to the members of Assembly that this flag represent not only Pakistan existing minorities but also those which will be here in future. This flag represents not only any political party or a group but reflects the whole country.”
J.Salik said that the Pakistan which was established after seven years of struggle after Pakistan Resolution, is not Quaid’s Pakistan, which was a fort and shelter for the oppressed community which has been conquered by bureaucrats. CDA instead of playing with fire on Independence Day should preach for peace. The rulers today have changed the complexion of the country. I have been in yellow parachute and Ashes for the last 83 days but no demands except that of sanitary workers uniform and pay have been excepted. This injustice forced me to present my flesh but the rulers have no pity. He said that public servants paid from public funds must wok for public service so that objectives of Pakistan could be achieved.
J.Salik quoted that S.P.Bahadur Singha who in support of Pakistan had said that even the lives would be sacrificed for getting Pakistan now we say that we would sacrifice our lives for the sake of Pakistan’s goals. We shall get all our rights including separate electricity meters in the slum areas of Islamabad.
J.Salik added that this was minority community which for change of geographic conditions recorded options before the boundary commission to count the Christians with the Muslims. In view of the atrocities being faced by the Christians the plaintiff procession dressed in sackcloth with Ashes on head tomorrow, August 28, 2005 at 12.00 noon will bow down before their God infront of parliament house and pray for the following demands:

Joint prayer on heap of Ashes
Bowing Down before God on August 28
infront of Parliament House if demands not accepted – J.Salik

Islamabad: “Ashes Day” on Sunday, August 21, 2005 was observed in the slums (katchi abadies) of Islamabad. Former Federal Minister, nominee for Nobel Peace Prize and Organizer Pakistan Human Rights Party J.Salik registered solidarity and visited all these abadies from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm. They held a joint prayer on “HEAP OF ASHES” for solving their problems. They were dressed in jute.
Thousands of years ago this way of prayer was practiced in the age of “Jonah in Nineveh city” which was repeated in Islamabad.
J.Salik in his statement said that if these katchi abadies were not cared for after 21st August 2005, thousands of the oppressed people would Bow Down before their God on August 28, 2005 infront of Parliament House for getting Pakistan and remaining deprived of the rights. Even then if their demands were not fulfilled, they would not make any demand thereafter and laugh at every new cruelty.
Concluding joint prayer was held at France colony F-7/4 when J.Salik in his brief address said that Pakistan was created to eliminate cruelty but here in Islamabad people living beside nullahs are deprived of health and education facilities and even the basic facilities of life. Rulers of the country have not only spoiled our two generations but have also damaged future of the country. Those who cant give basic necessities of life to its people, they have no right to get any benefit out of public funds. He advised the rulers to give up present custom of neglecting the oppressed community which will spoil the nation, which may weaken its ability of defending the country against enemy.

J.Salik declares August 21 as Ashes Day
in slums of Islamabad

Former Federal Minister, nominee for Nobel Peace Prize and Organizer Pakistan Human Rights Party, J.Salik today addressed a press conference in his tent and said having been in Ashes for 77 days “Ashes Day” in slums of Islamabad will be celebrated on August 21, 2005. Even the demands are not fulfilled by August 28 they will bow down before God in front of parliament House to express their contentment even on this miserable plight. Thereafter they will not make any demand rather laugh at cruelty.
He criticized that in Pakistan minorities do not have the rights which Quaid-e-Azam had promised. He repeated the words which Quaid-e-Azam had expressed during his presidential address in the Constituent Assembly on August 11, 1947. “If you forget your past, work with enthusiasm, irrespective of community, group, colour, religion and race all are citizens of this country with equal rights, facilities and also duties, the country will development tremendously.” The Assembly approved design of national flag same day. Its green and white colours reflect the majority of the Muslims and the Christians.
Quaid-e-Millat Nawabzada Liaquat Ali Khan while presenting its design clarified to the members of Assembly that this flag represent not only Pakistan existing minorities but also those which will be here in future. This flag represents not only any political party or a group but reflects the whole country.
There was bitterness in J.Salik’s tone when he made a reference to CDA privatization of sanitary work where 100% are Christians. Hiring and firing them in violation of labour laws is an open cruelty with them as such this act of privatization proved to be prejudice. They will therefore, observe an Ashes Day”. Even in the budget, minorities have absolutely been neglected. However, Islamic Ideological Council while recommending to spend income from the confiscated liquor on the welfare of minorities, has made a joke of them.
J.Salik said that the oppressed people have been living in the slums of Islamabad for the last 27 years. Even after 10 years of ownership rights to them they remain deprived of basic facilities as such they are leading miserable life. The children living here have dark future as they being deprived of education and facilities are becoming criminals. They in humbleness will wear ashes and pray to God to be kind on them and to grant them their rights.
J.Salik on this occasion will visit all Islamabad slums and to register solidarity with them will wear ashes himself.

· Firing cannons on Independence Day symbolic to terrorism
· It should be replaced with lighting Torch of Peace Message
· Defence Ministry should be renamed as Peace Defence Ministry - J.SALIK

Islamabad: Former Federal Minister and Organizer Human Rights Party is in Yellow parachute dress for last 64 days and wearing ashes, with shaved head for 48 days. He on non-coverage of his programs by PTV in protest, for the sixth time today, extracted his blood spread on his head to mix it with the blood of Shaheeds.
He said that firing 31 cannons in Federal Capital, 21 in each province is symbol of terrorism. In this way the world does not get a message of Peace from Pakistan, but the cannons are symbolic to threat, war and destruction. If seniors fire cannons, children following them, atleast will hold guns in hands, if we don’t stop elders from firing cannons we would not be justified in taking back guns form children. Instead of firing guns we should start to light 58 torches from this August and all the governors and Chief Ministers should meet at Federal Capital and light torches after departments. One torch should be added each year. J.Salik also demanded to rename the Defence Ministry with Peace Defence Ministry.
We are fighting against terrorism as such these Independence Day firing guns must be covered in white (Coffin). He said that white colour in National Flag reflects for protection of minorities, and this minority white color is a source of uplifting the flag and prestige of Pakistan. As such minorities play an important role in progress and development of the country. J.Salik said white part of the flag firmly holds it. This responsibility has been entrusted to the minorities and I will perform this holy duty till the last drop of my blood.
Decision for new elections in September for Japan parliament lower house, on arrival of Prime Minister of Pakistan in Japan is not a good sign. J.Salik therefore prayed God to protect Pakistan National Assembly on Prime Minister’s returning to Pakistan.

He condemned the progress which divides humanity in different groups. He also mourned for the victims of bomb blasts of Bari Imam Urs. He had a rally to register his protest desecration of the Holy Quran but it is not understood why the PTV does not give coverage to the protesting activities of religious nature and those for registration of human honour and peace of the world.
J.Salik is consulting constitution experts for a writ in Supreme Court against this policy of PTV. He said that the Assembly makes laws but for justice we have to knock the doors of the courts. We propagate that we have given adequate representation to women community in the Assemblies, but in the courts which give justice women have no representation there. So he demanded the Chief Justice of Pakistan to give suitable representation of women in the staff of senior courts. Private Secretaries and stenographers of judges should be women from minorities. PRESS CONFERENCE
July 25, 2005

Emergency in Federal Capital for Development of the Poor

Islamabad: Former Federal Minister, Pakistani Nominee for Nobel Peace Prize and Organizer Human Rights Party J. Salik said that he as Federal Minister diverted the attention of then Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto towards the miserable life of the Kachi-abadies of Islamabad. His summery made the cabinet realize that in the Federal Capital where offices of the outer world exist, the bad condition of Kachi-abadies are bringing bad name. As such the cabinet modified the Islamabad Master Plan and decided to develop these abadis properly, so 106 plots (20x30) were developed in J. Salik Colony G-8/1 and allotted to the residents at Rs. 45,000/- each that includes cost of land Rs. 15,000/- + developmental charges Rs. 25,000/-. The owners have properly been issued NOC and they are enjoying the facility of electricity alongwith other facilities.
Even after laps of 10 years only 200 plots have been developed against the total number of 3000 to be developed. No Human Rights Organizations or government cared for their betterment. They however used the residents as tools for slogans and clapping. On the other hand, in the name of their development got huge funds but their plight remains the same. According to Nawa-i-Waqt June, 2003, 37 Billion rupees from Poverty Alleviation Fund. In addition to 20 million rupees which he (As Federal Minister) had placed at the disposal of Minorities Affairs Ministry for utilization by CDA on development of Kachi-abadies which could not be utilized by CDA as such these funds also lapsed. This gave me a great shock as I had diverted this amount for Islamabad out of the funds for minorities of the entire Pakistan. He on the occasion thanked Brig. Waseem Zafar Iqbal (former IESCO, Chief Executive) who had provided electricity to these Kachi-abadies on single meter, expenses on transformer, cables etc. were borne by the residents themselves. Paying bill equally for single bulb and for using electricity lavishly is an open cruelty.
Now WAPDA intends to provide meter to each and every house and these Kachi-abadies have been surveyed for the purpose, but for want of funds there is no progress. So far, these residents have paid Rs. 60 million in the form of monthly electricity bill, out of which each one of them can be provided separate meters.
He said, Federal Capital Islamabad is the symbolic of unity for all the provinces of the country which got independence after thousands of sacrifices. We all must utilize out full abilities to make it great, strong and prosperous.
He said that all the applications which he got yesterday for providing them separate electricity meters would be sent to the President of Pakistan because this was his (J. Salik’s) crime who in 1995 got them ownership rights and in response they sent garlands of flowers to Prime Ministers House. After that he (J.Salik) was the culprit who got for them electricity on single meter but charging bills from them on the same rate irrespective of the units they consume is cruelty, so he would send these applications to General Pervez Musharraf.

The children, ladies and gentlemen dressed in yellow and black were present at the occasion. The ceremony started with this patriotic song
Eh watan hum hain teri shama kay perwanon main
Zindagi hosh main hay josh hay emanon main
J.Salik celebrated 21st (is divided by 7) day of his protest sitting on a heap of ASHES. This one is 7th month of the calendar year. He explained the importance of the figure 7 by quoting Pakistan’s establishment in the 7th year of passing the Resolution for creation of Pakistan and gave many other examples with reference to other religious, national and international context. The figure 7 is considered to be lucky one as such it carries very important role in our day today life like 7 heavens, 7 continents. 7 days of week, 7 colours of the rainbow, 7 wonders of the world, 7 notes of music, 7 seas, 7 tawaf around KAABA, 7 walks in Safa & Marwa, 7 verses of the opening Sura “Al Fateha in the Quran, 7 verses of periods, 7 thrones, 7 candle sticks, 7 cliesias, 7 seals and 7 thunders have been mentioned in Holy Bible, 7 pheras of the Hindu/Sikh marriage where the couple walks around the fire seven times exchanging vows of duty, love, fidelity and respect for a fruitful union.
J.Salik said that today is an important day of his political life. This 7th day of the Calendar year and it is 14th of this month and I have been in ASHES for the last 21 days. I am repeating the history of shaheeds who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan. J.Salik once again today extracted blood spread over his head and said that he was inflaming Torch for Peace. He said cruelties would not be tolerated any more.
He said that by lightning this Human Rights Torch I want to make all concerned realize that Injustice is at its peak, Cruelty is at extreme. The latest example which I am going to quote is about a poor sanitary worker – Ilyas who made a suicidal attempt infront of the Governor House Lahore yesterday. (press cutting is enclosed) Instead of providing him justice, he will suffer at the hands of police besides facing the courts.
He strongly condemned the deteriorating conditions of Human Rights and said that in Pakistan most of the sanitary workers belong to the Christian community as such have no protection in any way.
He lashed on so commonly violating of Human Rights. He said that he for the rights of the poor sanitary workers, has dressed himself in parachute for the last more than one month, but none cared then he sat on this heap of ASHES, then shaved his head in protest. To express helplessness locked his gate, built a wall before it and decorated medals on house footpath, which he had received in recognition of services for the humanity, even then no one cared. He appreciated the boldly protest of Ilyas, and said that if the public servants and Human Rights Organizations do not come for our help and rescue then all oppressed being Ilyas will not hesitate to lay down their lives. If the public servants do not provide us justice they should at least allow the poor to die.
He called it a joke of public servants who do not let the poor live with honour nor they let them die.
He called the poor to join hands to over come cruelty, prejudice, mourn against human rights and injustice.

PRESS RELEASE
July 13, 2005

Former federal minister and Organizer Pakistan Human Rights Party, J.Salik strongly condemns the present injustice in Pakistan and demands for:-
Declaration of Justice Emergency
Immediately cancellation of Summer Vacations of Sheriat Court
The Judicial System should work 24 hours
All Islamabad District courts be shifted to old MNA Hostel till the construction of Judicial Complex
J.Salik said that basic cause of the injustice faced by him in the Federal Capital is because no proper piece of land was allocated to the capital area for (grassroots) lower courts. These lower courts have been housed in the market, which had been constructed, to deal in salt and chilly as such these do not equate the prestige of our honourable judges. Alas! These courts do not have a few yards of piece of land. With apology to the soul of Bahadur Shah Zafar
Kitna badnaseeb hai capital adl kay liye
Do gaz zameen bhi na mili koo-e-yaar main
(Federal capital is unlucky for not having a piece of land for its own building)
J.Salik said all this is enough to damage the image of Pakistan, hence it must be stopped at once. He said, as the objectives for creation of Pakistan have not been achieved, martyrs souls are in unrest in their graves. We must realize the reality as no more time is left to meet the present challenge.
Junior courts of Federal Capital are the real reflection of such courts working in other parts of the country. One can well imagine, the importance, we give in Islamic Republic of Pakistan, to the poor in providing them justice. However, justice in all religions of the world is 1st priority. He said that had there been representation of the poor while making master plan for shifting of the Federal Capital to Islamabad, buildings would have been constructed to accommodate (grassroots) lower courts. All this is due to non-representation of the poor and this is why I have been in protest on a heap of Ashes for the last 20 days struggle against injustice.

On the tune of National Anthem, Muslim Christian joint solidarity prayer and smoke of Loban, Muhammad Tufail, butcher slaughtered a healthy black goat on the heap of Ashes on which J.Salik has been sitting for the last many weeks. The goat was covered with black cloth painted in red was “Oh God! Protect Pakistan against Evils of injustice”.

Former Federal Minister, nominee for Nobel Peace Prize and Chief Organizer Pakistan Human Rights Party, J.Salik who against the present system of election against the seats reserved for minorities in the National Assembly had filed a writ in the Supreme Court had withdrawn it as its hearing date had been scheduled after the last elections.
After that he had filed a writ before the Federal Sheriat Court with the hope that he as a non-Muslim (being Christian) would get early relief there. This petition was admitted 3 years ago but as the full bench was short of a judge, no action could be taken and the petition remains pending since then.
J.Salik who, for the last 31 days has been in yellow parachute dress, ashes in his head for last 17 days his wounded leg, blood spots on his dress crossed over his house boundary wall and reached the premises of the federal Shariat Court, the security guards rushed towards him and desired to disclose his identity. PRESS RELEASE
8TH JULY, 2005

Three years ago J. Salik submitted a petition in Federal Shariat Court
There being no decision,
he has requested for its withdrawal.

J. Salik, Chief Organizer Human Rights Party, Former Federal Minister nominated Pakistani representative for Nobel Peace Prize has requested for withdrawal of his writ petition which he had submitted to the Federal Shariat Court about present system for filling in the minorities seats in the National Assembly.. Intention behind approaching the Federal Shariat Court was that, he, as a non-Muslim would get early relief from the Federal Shariat Court. This petition was admitted 3 years ago, but as the full bench was short of a judge, no action could be taken and the petition remains pending since then.
J.Salik who, for the last 30 days has been in yellow parachute dress with ashes in his head for last 16 days with his wounded leg, blood spots on his dress crossed over his house boundary wall and reached the premises of the federal Shariat Court, the security guards rushed towards him and desired to disclose his identity. However J.Salik only today morning had got painted on his parachute dress “J. Salik, Former Federal Minister – Pakistani nominee for Nobel Peace Prize – five times elected representative”.
When J. Salik requested for withdrawal of his writ petition, the officiating registrar told that the judges were on Summer vacations and that the court observes two months vacations upto September. Earlier J.Salik had submitted a writ petition before the Supreme Court, as according to him, in this way the interest of minorities could not be protected and that it would adversely effect relations among different religions. His plea in Supreme Court was that this new system would be in contradiction of the Constitution of Pakistan and that the minorities through this new system are deprived of their right to vote for minorities representative .
As the date for hearing was scheduled after the date of elections, J. Salik withdrew it from Supreme Court. Even his petition in the Federal Shariat Court has been pending for the last 3 years, he has submitted an application today for its withdrawal.

PRESS RELEASE
July 7, 2005

Government’s cold response on J.Salik’s swear protest
He cuts with sharp knife to bleed himself
Further threats to chop flesh out of his body

Former federal minister, nominee for Nobel Peace Prize and Chief Organizer of Pakistan Human Rights Party, J.Salik for the last 29 days has been dressed in yellow parachute sitting with shaved head on heap of Ashes for the last 15 days. Previous day (July 6) the journalists participated in a Daal Chawal feast. He on the occasion before the journalists, children dressed in yellow and black colour, ladies and gentlemen extracted his pure blood free of liquor and spreaded over his head and said that he had mixed his blood with the blood of hundreds of those Shaheeds who laid down their lives for creation of Pakistan - for defence of Pakistan and for solidarity of Pakistan.
The government response even to this protest remained cold. He, in order to make its more swear made cuts in his body and bleeded himself and re-affirmed that even if there is was response he would chop out pieces of his body till the public servants start performing their duty sincerely and his demands are well known to the entire world.
J.Salik said that Quaid-e-Azam’s Pakistan is not the “Jagir” or property of any one. He stressed that he would not allow holding of the local government elections at any cost as such he would save the sanctity of the independence day 14th of August. He said that the army and the institutions of justice by virtue of their responsibilities are very disciplined and respectable institutions. Their involvement in local Government elections would damage their dignity and honor. He said that the qualification of the persons responsible for holding elections should only be “honesty and only honesty”. There is no derth of such people in each and every race and religion living in Pakistan.
As such the Government without involvement of army and the courts can hold Free and fair elections. He added that involvement of these institutions in the elections will make the competency of the election commission suspicious.
Julius Salik started saying that about three years ago when he had encaged himself, on 14th August some of the sanitary workers came to him with brooms in hands complaining that even while celebrating Independence Day they had been forced to work. He raised his voice against this cruelty and did his best to solve their problem. From the cruelties being faced by the Christian community in the Federal capital city, one can realize their condition in other cities of country. He said that he had talked to religious scholars like Maulana Fazal ur Rehman and Dr. Israr Ahmed but in vain. He also discussed the matter with the DC Islamabad with this parachute he is wearing, but the problem remains unsolved.
NEGLECTION IN “BUDGE” SPEECH
Ignoring the minorities in the recent budget speech, the Government has added to their insult. It is a great cruelty and symbol of hatred to force the poor sanitary workers to wear yellow parachute jacket uniforms of the yellow dustbin colour under the scorching sun. The sanitary workers are facing far more cruelty than that existed in the age of “FIRON”. They are getting only (US $ 28) Rs. 1700/- per month for cruel 10 duty hours a day under privatization system during these days of price hike.
Even under aged children engaged on daily wages basis in violation of labour laws are paid (US $ 20 to 25 only) Rs. 1200 to 1500/- pm only.
SLUM OF ISLAMABAD
The slums (katchi abadis) of Islamabad to which during his minister-ship in 1995, he had given the rights of ownership, no developmental work has been started. These slums (abadis) have not been provided with even the basic facilities. On the basis of self-reliance these slums (abadis) have only one electricity meter to feed the entire slum (abadi). Payment of bill is not based on the principle of justice as a widow who has only one bulb has to pay equal to those who consume electricity lavishly on their electronic and electric appliances.
REPRESENTATION IN NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
National Assembly seats have been raised from 207 to 335. Even the seats of women have been raised from 15 to 60 but the 30 years old minority seats still remain only 10 which through magic stick instead of election have been filled by selection resulting in eliminating the representation of minorities who rightfully deserve their representation on National Assembly and the Islamic Ideological Council.
The Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, out of 365 days, has not reserved even a single day to listen to the minorities.

He thanked the Journalists, ladies and gentlemen and the children dressed in black and yellow colors for being with him on the occasion. He extracted his pure liquorless blood and spreaded over his bare head. He said in doing so he had mixed his own blood with the blood of hundreds of Shaheeds who laid down their lives for creation of this beloved country. He loudly appreciated the sacrifices given by the men the women and the children for creation of Pakistan. He said that by mixing his own blood with that of the Shaheeds, he has converted his insecurity into security.
Earlier J.Salik had rejected the local Government Elections from 18th August 2005 in order to save the sanctity of 14th August – the day of National Unity its Solidarity and progress of the country. As response from the Government has been very cold, he announced to constitute a new “Pakistan Human Rights Party.” Besides others, its first and foremost objective will be preparation of volunteers in each and every corner of the country responsible for preparing political injections for revival of the patriotism, peace and love among the people of the country.
J.Salik reminded that even before this, he had warned the announcement of the National and Provincial Assemblies election schedule (1996) on 16th December - the day when Dhaka was surrendered. Although these elections were held as scheduled but the Assemblies that came into existence could not live their lives - its consequences are before the nation. He is sure these proposed local government election will not take place, and if these are held, will not have a different fate that of the Assemblies quoted above.

PRESS RELEASE
July 4, 2005

Islamabad: Angry Christian leader, Former Federal Minister J.Salik dressed in yellow parachute for the last 25 days, with shaved head and ASHES on it has been sitting on a heap of ASHES in scorching heat under open sky for the last 12 days. He in his each day of protest, experienced the troubles of a whole year, as such his present protest spreads over long 12 years, but to his extreme disappointment, government response has remained too cold.

According to J.Salik this cold response probably is far for the reason that today’s Pakistan is not the real Pakistan of the Quaid-e-Azam. Because Quaid-e-Azam’s Pakistan was the mere Pakistan in which there was no discrimination between race, colour and religion. It will not be out of place to make a mention of Christian representative Bahadur Singha who on behalf of the chrisitans recorded his statement before the boundary commission that the Christian community be counted towards Muslims for creation of Pakistan.
The Quaid reciprocated practically by designating Jogindar Lal Mandal who was a “Shudar” according to the Hindu division of society as Pakistan ‘s first Law Minister. He was one who presided over the ceremony for designating Quaid-e-Azam as first Governor General of Pakistan.

In Pakistan of the Quaid-e-Azam, Choudhry Chandu Lal remained the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly whereas Chief Justice, justice A.R Cornelius was also a Christian.

Today’s Pakistan in no way is the Pakistan of Quaid-e-Azam. It is however the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Its clean shaved Prime Minister in no way is the follower of the Sunnat and the principles of equality of Islam. He can represent the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in real sense only by following the Sunnah with a bear on his face and by treating all the Pakistanis as equal citizens especially with reference to their rights.
J.Salik made a reference of the neighbouring country’s Prime Minister who by following his religion and traditions keeps a turban on his head. But here in Pakistan state of the followers of Islam is quite different, as they neither care for religion nor its principles of justice and traditions.

PRESS RELEASE
July 1st, 2005

J.Salik rejects Local Government Elections from 18th August 2005
Deliberate effort to divert attention from the objectives of independent homeland on 14th August
Even before this, he had warned on announcing the National Polling Schedule (1996) on 16th December – day of Dhaka fall

Former Federal Minister and nominee for Nobel Peace Prize on behalf of Pakistan, J.Salik rejects local government election schedule from 18th August 2005 announced by acting Chief Election Commissioner Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar. He said preparing for the proposed elections from 18th August 2005 and making preparations to celebrate Independence Day on 14th August 2005 at the same time is a new joke with the nation. He said making preparations for both the events at the same time will cool down their enthusiasm for a very very important National Day of 14th August 2005.
He said that firstly giving less importance to Labourers Day on 1st May and ignoring the Defence Day on 6th September and neglecting Yom-e-Takbeer is damaging the moral of the nation.
He once again condemned the winding up of the National Centers that existed throughout the country and criticized the national centers of foreign countries established in Pakistan.
Special news: with the blessings of God, the last night rain washed away the ASHES J.Salik had on his body for the last 8 days …now he is happy

Dressed in yellow parachute a large number of children, young, old men and women participated in the inaugural prayer.
His protest in the “ASHES” during this scorching heat at 46-48 degree enters 3rd day. People from all walks of life visited him day and night, spent mentionable time in his company. A number of Human Rights Organizations and well-wishers contacted to inquire of his well being expressed their solidarity offered all kind of help and support.
J.Salik in his 18th day in parachute dress feels grief and sorrow that his last 30 years struggle for Human Rights and for Solidarity between the Christians and the Muslims remains futile, while the Islamic Ideological Council has thrown fuel on fire by spending earnings of the confiscated liquor on their welfare whereas the budget speech for their welfare is silent.
He repeating the ‘history of Hazrat Younus’ sat in Ashes mourning for his demands till such time all demands are well known to the Entire World or till the Government of Islamic Republic of Pakistan accepts these demands in the name of God and the sacrifices given by the Shaheeds for creation of Pakistan and its solidarity.
In the age of Hazrat Younus, the people of the Nainwa city keeping the fast, sat in the ASH and prayed to God for their forgiveness. In this way God listening to their prayers forgave them. J.Salik is following the people of Nainwa city.

A few of the demands are as under:

1. Ignoring the minorities in the recent budget speech, the Government has added to insult.
2. Under aged children engaged on daily wages basis in violation of labour laws are paid (US $ 20 to 25 only) Rs. 1200 to 1500/- pm only.
4. The National Assembly seats have been raised from 207 to 335. Even the seats of women have been raised from 15 to 60 but the 30 years old minority seats still remain only 10 which through magic stick instead of election have been filled by selection resulting in eliminating the representation of minorities who rightfully deserve their representation on National Assembly and the Islamic Ideological Council
5. The Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, out of 365 days, has not reserved even a single day to listen to the minorities.
